Don Belanus, our principal
speaker and president is a native of Prospect
Park, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Calvin
College (Grand Rapids, Michigan) and Calvin
Theological Seminary.
Though he served churches
in New Jersey, New York, Michigan, and
Virginia as a pastor, he spent most of
his ministry as a chaplain in the U.S.
Navy from which he retired with the rank
of Captain.
Over the years Don
served Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint military
units, ashore and at sea, around the globe,
both in peacetime and during time of war.
He led American military personnel in missions
of mercy in many foreign countries.
He conducted the first
open-air Christian worship service aboard
an American warship in China since World
War II. And, he trained and supervised
hundreds of chaplains of all religious
traditions in the common mission of preserving
American religious freedoms.

With the cooperation
of the Department of Defense, Don was able
to pursue post-graduate education at Calvin
Theological Seminary, the Catholic University
of America, Indiana University, and Walden
University. He completed his Ph.D. in 1997.
His passion is the practical application
of Biblical truth to every area of human
life including personal growth, human relationships,
work, family, responsible citizenship,
recreation, goal-setting, decision-making,
and more.
He has appeared on
Armed Forces Radio and Television, The
Leon Charney Report (WNYE-TV New York),
and Good Morning America (ABC-TV).
Dr. Belanus began
this new ministry, Centered, Inc., with
the encouragement and support of his
family and friends in the spring of 2007.
