| June 28, 2009 - Guest, Ralph Stearley examines the evidence for the age of the earth. Dr. Ralph Stearley is professor of geology at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Professor Stearley is a graduate of the University of Missouri, the University of Utah, and the University of Michigan where he received his Ph.D. He was also a post-doctoral researcher at the Illinois State Museum. He has broad interests in the history of the earth and the life it contains and he's a very active field researcher. In 2008 he co-authored, with Professor Davis A. Young, The Bible, Rocks and Time: Geological Evidence for the Age of the Earth (Inter-Varsity Press). |

Mark Galli is senior managing editor of Christianity Today. He has also been an editor with Christian History and Leadership magazine. He is a graduate of the University of California and Fuller Theological Seminary. His latest books include Beyond Bells & Smells: The Wonder and Power of Christian Liturgy (Paraclete, 2008), Jesus Mean and Wild: The Unexpected Love of an Untamable God (Baker, 2006), and Francis of Assisi and His World (Lion/InterVarsity, 2001). He's a commuter bicycler, and, as an eternal optimist, he follows the Chicago Cubs. Our focus today is his newest book, A Great and Terrible Love: A Spiritual Journey into the Attributes of God (Baker Books, 2009). |

| June 14, 2009 - Guests, John Janik, National Flag Day Foundation. Michael Buss American Legion Mr. John J. Janik is president of the National Flag Day Foundation in Waubeka, Wisconsin. Mr. Janik has had many years of broad experience as a business executive in Wisconsin and, for the last 17 he’s served as president of the foundation. He’s an unabashed patriot, brought up, as he says, “in a family of patriots,” many of whom served our country in uniform. Today he’s a strident defender of our American flag and all the national values it stands for. Mr. Michael D. Buss is Assistant Director, Americanism and Children and Youth Division of the American Legion. Mike is an NROTC scholarship graduate of Iowa State University and a former Naval officer with plenty of experience both ashore and afloat. Today he lives in Indianapolis, Indiana where he is heavily involved in youth sports (especially baseball). |

| June 7, 2009 - Guest, Roger Lundin, Faith and Unbelief in the 21st Century Dr. Roger Lundin is Blanchard Professor of English at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Professor Lundin is the author of several books and a host of scholarly articles. His particular research interests include the relationship of Christianity to literature and to modern intellectual history. He is currently directing a multi-year project on American literature and religion, co-sponsored by the Pew Charitable Trusts and the Erasmus Institute of the University of Notre Dame. Our focus today is his book, Believing Again: Doubt and Faith In a Secular Age (Eerdmans, 2009). |

| May 30, 2009 - Guest, Former diplomat Tom Farr, International Religious Freedom Professor Thomas F. Farr is a former American diplomat. Currently he is Visiting Associate Professor of Religion and World Affairs at Georgetown University, and Senior Fellow at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs. During his career in the Foreign Service, Dr. Farr specialized in strategic military policy, political affairs and religious freedom. He also served as the first director of the State Department's office of international religious freedom. His book, World of Faith and Freedom: Why International Religious Liberty is Vital to American National Security was published by Oxford University Press in 2008. |

| May 24, 2009 - Guest, Dr. Jean Elshtain, Politics and Ethics Today Dr. Jean Bethke Elshtain is Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics at the University of Chicago Divinity School. Professor Elshtain’s particular interest is in showing the connections between our political and our ethical convictions. She is the author and co-author of a host of scholarly and popular books and her writing has earned her several prestigious awards. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, chair of the Council on Civil Society, and a Presidential appointee to the Council of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Professor Elshtain also serves as co-chair of the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life and chair of the Council on Families in America. Our focus of discussion today is her book, Sovereignty: God, State, and Self (2008).

Dr. Arthur Paul Boers is Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana. His experience is broad, having served for over sixteen years as a pastor in rural, urban, and church-planting settings in the USA and Canada. He is also a Benedictine Oblate. His book, The Way is Made by Walking: A Pilgrimage Along the Camino de Santiago (InterVarsity, 2007) describes his experience walking the ancient 500-mile pilgrimage route in Spain. |

| April 5, 2009 - Guest, Larry Schweikart on 48 Liberal Lies you probably learned in school Larry Schweikart is a native Arizonian who attended Arizona State University. For many years he was a professional drummer, opening for such noted rock legends as “Steppenwolf” and “Savoy Brown.” In 1976, he left the road and, by chance, was taking a U.S. history class at ASU when he decided he had to become a history professor. After getting his MA from ASU, he got a Ph.D. from the U. of California, Santa Barbara. In 1985, he took a position at the U. of Dayton, where he has taught since. His research, which has resulted in over 30 books, has included banking and financial history, military history, and U.S. history in general. His 2006 book, America’s Victories: Why the U.S. Wins Wars, impressed Pres. George Bush, who invited him to the Oval Office to discuss military history in 2006. His current book, 48 Liberal Lies About American History is now in its 6th printing. He has been on the Rush Limbaugh Show, and hundreds of other shows, including Laura Ingram, Hugh Hewitt, Denis Prager, and Michael Medved, and has appeared on such television shows as “Fox and Friends” (where he is a regular analyzing textbook errors), “Al-Jazeera Television,” the “700 Club,” and BookTV. |
